5 minor Bohol tremors noted Aug 7 -Phivolcs

TAGBILARAN CITY, August 7 (PIA)-- Five minor tremors hit Bohol between 9:00 Am to 4:30 PM, August 7, 2016.

But, except for some momentary stir in the social media, Boholanos apparently have become immune to the tremors as life went on throughout the day with nary a noticeable pause.

All earthquakes were traced in two locations in Bohol, data from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) of the Department of Science and Technology said.

The first earthquake occurred at 9:07 AM was measured at 2.0 magnitude using PHIVOLCS magnitude scale and came from the depth of 10 kilometers.
Seismic data pinpointed the origins at 09.87 degrees north – a24.04 degrees East -005 kilometers North and 72 degrees East of Catigbian, Bohol.

The tremor was felt by netster Dodong Ombajin Cardino Azonne in Clarin and some stir in social media about the quake trended momentarily in Tubigon.

Two seconds later, at 9:09, another 2.1 magnitude earthquake hit Dagohoy Bohol.

Phivolcs said the earthquake emanated from 32 kilometers deep and as located by seismic traces at 09.91 degrees North – 124.24 degrees East, 004 kilometers North and 71 degrees West of Dagohoy, Bohol.

Later in the morning, at 11:48 AM, from the depth of 1 kilometer, a 2.2 magnitude earthquake happened at 09.91 degrees North and 123.99 degrees East at 005 kilometers North and 13 degrees East of Catigbian.

Then, by 4:39 in the afternoon, from the depth of 33 kilometers, a 2.1 magnitude earthquake occurred at 09.91 degrees North and 124.24 degrees East from 004 kilometers North and 71 degrees West if Dagohoy, Bohol.

When many thought the day was over for the tremors, another one jolted people from sleep at 11:37 PM.

Phivolcs said the 3.0 magnitude earthquake emanated from 01 kilometers and was pinpointed at 09.89°N, 124.03°E - 04 km N 37° E of Catigbian. 

This was the third time this section of Bohol moved in a day.
