TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, June 2 (PIA) –Three Bohol schools representing small and big elementary and high schools implementing that national schools maintenance program may not have bagged the top regional spots, but occupied lofty places enough to motivate Bohol public school officials to innovate some more.

The three schools, both top winners in their respective categories in Bohol made it to the top three position in the region’s comparative of best schools implementing the 2014 Brigada Eskwela, reports Desiderio Deligero of Bohol Division of the Department of Education (DepED).

DepED Bohol’s Adopt a School program focal person Ivory Garces confirmed Deligero’s information.

Deligero, DepEDs Governance and Operations Chief named the Bohol schools which showed promising performance in the regional innovations as Sampong Elementary School of Garcia Hernandez, which capped third among 19 small elementary schools competing for the honor to represent Region 7 in the national contest.
Meanwhile, Lonoy Heroes’ Memorial High School of Lonoy Jagna, Bohol also capped third among 19 other schools which implemented their Brigada Eskwela in the entire region. The honor was for small high schools.

On the other hand, performing much better among the three is Lila National High School, representing big high school ins Bohol.

According to the DepED, Lila capped the second place among the big high schools competing for the honor to use the most innovative ways to get their Brigada in tempo with the needs of the times.

The honors however were not enough to get Bohol representing the region in the national search for most innovative brigada, Deligero said.

DepEd however did not reveal which schools in the Visayas topped the test and would be representing the region in Manila.

As this went on, Deligero continues to urge parents in Bohol to help innovate the school processes to produce Brigada Eskwelas.

This too as productive efforts at mobilizing communities to a better education, transform classrooms into safer places people hide out in times of disaster, safe from accident. Rac/PIA-7/Bohol
